Intro: When we decided to give an easter greetings to our contacts, we gave them a classic crime story, and killed our creative director! But as an agency with digital ambitions we played the story out on twitter. In real time. As we operate an ethical business, we would like to draw your attention to the Corporate Social Responsibility Report on the website of our parent company. This can be found at http://www.wpp.com/wpp/about/ For more information about our local office goto http://www.btsunited.no Digital advertisement created by Bates, Norway for Bates, within the category: Agency Self-Promo.
Audi releases quattro coaster, the world’s first AR experience to interact with a TV commercial. Audi Norway has released the Audi quattro coaster AR app, making it possible for anyone to have an Audi quattro model in their driveway at any time. The app provides an interactive experience triggered by its latest television commercial. In a move to show that Audi’s technological edge is not just in its cars but in the brand’s DNA, it’s the first time a campaign has seen a moving image activate an AR experience. On watching the TV commercial, viewers’ chosen device recognize the film, at which point the car bursts out of the TV and into the user’s environment. Users can then explore the four Audi quattro models scaled between miniature or actual size, by freely moving their device without having to keep the marker in view. And finally, in life imitating screen, the AR experience allows people to create and test-drive a personalized test-track imitating all four seasons in their own living room or anywhere else they choose. The most ambitious TV commercial in Maxbo’s history, shot in the beautiful Norwegian landscape, connects the brand to its owners’ 370 year old history (Løvenskiold, from 1649). The well-crafted video shows that, even with hundreds of years of knowledge within their walls, it has been important to Maxbo not to lean on the tradition part alone too much. Good craftsmanship, but in a modern wrapping. An experienced retailer who looks forward, to another 400 years. Drivers who don´t use seat belts are often young, immature and inexperienced. We wanted to find a forum which put our message about using seat belts into a relevant context for this group. We decided to coup the premiere of the high testosterone film, Fast & Furious 6. A film event our target group most surely would attend. Research shows that using a mobile phone while driving is just as dangerous as driving drunk. In Norway we have though laws on driving under influence (zero limit) and there is very low public acceptance for drunk drivers. At the same time, Norwegians don't seem to care about the dangers of using their mobile phone whilst driving. We turned E6, the Norwegian equivalent to Route 66, into a roulette board using Google maps and StreetView. We then asked Norway to place their bets on how far a Golf BlueMotion could run on a single tank of fuel. If the car car stopped on your spot, it would be yours. Objective: Create a shareable self-promotional piece. Solution: Advertising people love Apple products. We leveraged this emotional connection to a brand, and created a concept that was fun, unexpected and useful. We designed a product that any Apple enthusiast can build themselves, and we made a simple stop-motion video showing them how to do it. We made a scale version of the classic 1984 Apple Macintosh in LEGO, and with a few simple adjustments made it into an iPad docking station. It's perfect for watching movies, reading blogs, and it looks awesome on your desk. As a self-promotion piece, it was a great way to showcase our interest in technology, craft, social media and creativity. Result: In less than 24 hours the film was picked up by some of the biggest design and technology blogs (Fast Company, Design Taxi, PSFK, etc…). The twitter reach alone of these blogs exceeded 1.5 million people. Digital advertisement created by TBWA, Norway for TBWA, within the category: Agency Self-Promo.
