The British Columbia Construction Association’s message is clear: “Don’t Be A Tool”. The British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) launched a new anti-bullying and harassment campaign in April, to coincide with BC Construction Month. The BCCA, and Vancouver agency Rethink, released a series of animated spots that tackle problematic workplace behaviour with the tagline “Don’t Be A Tool”. The campaign follows a year-long research project between BCCA and the Construction Workforce Equity Project that found three behaviours — bullying, hazing and sexual harassment—to be common problems in the industry. The series of three animated videos focus on each one of these behaviours with a unique and refreshing tone. “It can help spark conversation and awareness to these behaviours on construction work sites or, for that matter, in any job," says Chris Atchison, president of the B.C. Construction Association. "Right now there are so many campaigns competing for our attention around the themes of workplace conduct, sexual harassment and gender equality,” says Morgan Tierney, Managing Partner at Rethink.”We needed to create something that would cut through and get noticed. Using cartoon characters allows us to look at a serious problem through an exaggerated, lighthearted lens, making the whole issue more approachable" Out of the estimated 180,000 people working in B.C.’s construction industry, only five percent are women—something BCCA is working to change. They’re hoping this will improve worker retention overall and increase women to ten percent within the next decade. This anti-bullying campaign is part of a larger Builders Code initiative to set a baseline code of conduction standard in construction and improve workplace behaviour. Visualization of the 1st violin of the 2nd symphony, 4th movement by Ferdinand Ries in the shape of a rollercoaster. The camera starts by showing a close-up of the score, then focuses on the notes of the first violin turning the staves into the winding rail tracks of the rollercoaster. The notes and bars were exactly synchronised with the progression in the animation so that the typical movements of a rollercoaster ride match the dramatic composition of the music. Because we ignore online homophobia and transphobia online, we made it impossible to ignore. We selected, printed and displayed 74 hateful posts from the last 6 years on a wild postings palissade in Downtown Montreal. The posters were initially supposed to be on display for a few days but we got shut down by the police in less than 20 minutes. A dozen calls had already been made to report the hatred. Thing is you can still find these messages online. Experiential advertisement created by Rethink, Canada for Fondation Emergence, within the category: Public Interest, NGO.

The Smok-Ink exhibition is an innovative project half way between art and science, conceived by Moreno De Turco and Mirco Pagano, a creative team at TBWA\Italy and made with the artistic support of street artist Ozmo. It is a project by First Floor Under, digital publishing house and event venue, created under the artistic direction of Francesco Guerrera and Nicola Lampugnani. Humanitas, center of excellence for treatment and research, has supplied the creative team with scienfic information and has supported the project together with Fondazione Humanitas. The result is a 60 square meter canvas entirely hand painted, with an artistic infographic scientific twist. Numbers, images and words are combined together and tell, with a very understandable but particular language, what happens to the lungs of a smoker. Smok-Ink (#smokink) is an installation that literally involves the visitors showing "from within" the damages caused by cigarette smoke. The result, therefore, turns the perspective upside down and it is an experience that leaves its mark. The MIFF Emotion Simulator will allow Melburnians to physically experience the emotions of a MIFF film, before they see it.

This artistically-lead scientific experiment is a custom-built movie chair that sees the face of willing participants electro-stimulated to demonstrate the way a movie will make someone feel, before the choose to see it.

Participants will have 12 electrodes placed on the various major muscles of the face, allowing the simulation of happiness, sadness, disgust, fear, anger, and surprise. Participants can then choose which films from this year’s Festival they’d like to experience. In this way a two-hour film is concentrated into a minute-long experience unlike any other.

A chair-mounted camera films each session creating one-off film clips that can be shared via social media throughout the Festival’s duration, by MIFF itself as well as the participants. These provide a unique facial movie preview for the people of Melbourne to watch to determine what sort of film they wish to watch from the over 370 on offer at this year’s MIFF.

From couch concerts to makeshift stages, music isn't cancelled. In fact, it's more powerful than ever. After having revealed its new advertising signature "Because finding a new job again can’t depend on a silver lining" on December 2016, Tissons la Solidarité (Weave for Solidarity) is launching its first communication campaign with Publicis Conseil in charge of creation, and Caméra Subjective responsible for the production. It is through a job interview supported by the godmother of the network, Mathilda May and under the supervision of the producer director Jérome Bonnell, that Publicis Conseil stages all the stereotypes that these women must endure when they try to reintegrate the working world. Made as a "short advertising film," like a film scene to denounce all the clichés about these women. Tissons la Solidarité (Weave for Solidarity) is an association that fights against the precariousness of women by providing them concrete and effective support in order to allow them to return to a sustainable job. If the association tackles this subject today, it is to change the image of these women, often set aside due to a life accident, sucked into social stereotypes, but not less competent than others. Based in Switzerland, big oil traders like Trafigura blend cheap fuel with sulfur levels hundred times over European limits. They sell the "dirty diesel" in African countries where the weakness of local fuel standards can be exploited. The Swiss NGO Public Eye published a 160-page report about the dirty business. In order to expose this practice and to push Trafigura to change it, the NGO had to act and to present the findings to a larger public. Return to Sender: We sent the dirty air back to the responsible company. To show the shocking health impacts dirty diesel has on the African population, Public Eye asked us to do a unique campaign. With the help of activists in Accra, Ghana, we shot a short film showing local people capturing the polluted air into canisters and return it to the sender. As a reaction to the dirty business of Trafigura: We sent the air in a shipping container back to the commodities giant. With the campaign, we wanted to create public pressure through the mass media and then through the people, in order to get the involved companies to change their behavior. A multichannel campaign with a petition to stop Trafigura. The campaign was implement in 3 phases: In phase one, the audience was shown a teaser film with local people capturing the polluted air into canisters and return it to the sender. In phase 2, the journey of the dirty air to Switzerland started and was a public event. Users could follow the cargo ship in real time on the website returntosender.ch, including precise geolocation of the container ship, weather data and progression. It led to a petition demanding Trafigura to stop their dirty business and focus on their goal of becoming market leader in social responsibility. The hook of Phase 3 was the delivery of the dirty air to the sender. Ghana toughens its sulfur standards in March 2017. The petition was signed by almost 20´000 people. Accompanied by the press, the signed canisters and the petition were handed over to Trafigura at their headquarters in Geneva. Public pressure caused by our campaign moved the government of Ghana to toughen its national sulfur standard by a factor of 60 in March 2017. Other West African countries will follow.
