Parents are invited to look into the future in Very.co.uk’s Christmas campaign using the strapline ‘find the gift that helps them find their gift’. A magical, animated film titled ‘Elsie’s gift’, created by St. Luke’s, kicks off the festive season. The idea behind the campaign is a gift can be so much more than a treat, an indulgence or a reward. It can be an inspiration that changes the course of a life. The film opens with a young girl playing with a toy rocket. Her parents notice her interest and when Christmas Day arrives, the girl is thrilled when unwrapping her presents to receive a toy astronaut helmet. We then follow her journey as her interest in the universe and space travel grows, eventually taking her to university to study astrophysics. The ad finishes with her aged parents staring up into the stars knowing their daughter is fulfilling her dreams as an astronaut, looking back down at earth. URL: http://allforbear.com A digital project focused on the problems of polar bear preservation has been launched by BBDO Moscow. Allforbear.com aims to increase public awareness of the issue and involve many users. Problem: With their natural habitat – ice – rapidly melting away, the 25,000 population of polar bears in the Arctic region is facing extinction. Estimates indicates that only ⅓ may survive by 2050, and the ice level last year has reached its minimum, showing a gap of the size of Turkey compared to the minimum level in 2007. The endangered future of the bears is made even worse by factors like climate change, fish migration, as well as poaching and pollution in the Arctic region. Idea: To help the WWF raise money for the project and draw public and media attention to the problem, BBDO Moscow created a special website http://allforbear.com and encouraged users to share it in social media. Solution: The website shows the virtual ice habitat of the polar bears surrounded by sea. Each click on the blue sea area turns water into a floe of ice, which gets their name, and give the bears more space to live in. The website mechanics are based on the Pay-With-A-Tweet concept: each click generates a sharing link for social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Vk.com. It is a simple viral growth formula: the more people visit the website and share it with their friends, the more donations are received by the WWF. By “buying” a bear to live on the ice, users support the preservation program and environmental projects and increase the survival chances of polar bears. Celebrities, bloggers, companies, radio stations and even football clubs are also encouraged to participate in order to spread the word and attract attention to the situation in the Arctic region. Results: The website gained a great momentum, and without a single penny spent for media support the total audience of the project just in social networks amounts to over 6 million people by now. Russian outdoor media showed their support by providing free advertising spaces, while major online media and the Russian LiveJournal community promoted it on their websites completely free of charge! The giant ice floe also obtained its very own ‘walk of fame’, as Russian celebrities joined in to help save the polar bears. As a result, without having spent a single penny on media support, the campaign’s PR value in free media coverage reached the equivalent of around $1,000,000. Rich people have a tendency to throw away more food before its expiration date because they can afford it. So we'll hack another one of their spending habits to show them the value of the food they're actually wasting. We'll create a gallery with paintings made by renowned artists and have a silent auction for people to buy them. Once all the art pieces are sold, we'll reveal exactly how they were made — by using the food they just wasted as painting materials. Showing people that the expensive art they just bought is worth the same as the food they just threw out. Here’s a short film about love, time and concrete we at Strays, an ad agency in Stockholm, did for Formbetong to launch their first holistic communication concept - Alla tiders betong. Which roughly translates to ”A Concrete Story." Formbetong has been around for a long time and has has grown into Sweden's leading construction company in the concrete industry, but it is only now that they take a holistic approach to their marketing and communication. With the new concept the brand wants to dramatize the central part of the company's business - that generations to come will be able to benefit from the buildings that Formbetong is building today. We were thrilled with the idea that each concrete building has several lives, since concrete is incredibly durable, and is rediscovered by every new generation. And since Formbetong cherished the idea that the concept should first and foremost be about people and not concrete the 5-minute short film depicts young love throughout several decades. The concrete's presence consists only of the concrete roof on which every decade takes place on.
