Jawwy, a Saudi telecom brand from STC believes in fairness at all times! And it’s well known that during Ramadan people do good deeds and heping others, more than at any other time of the year. But, it tends to be “limited time goodness.” With Ramadan ending, Jawwy felt it was important to remind everyone to live that Ramadan spirit all year long by making sure that doing good deeds and helping others becomes an everyday habit. Because, to be honest, it’s not fair to limit goodness to just thirty days when we can spread fairness and goodness all year round! Since Ramadan tends to be the advertising bonanza in the Middle East with advertisers investing in campaigns, this year Jawwy did its Ramadan campaign … after Ramadan! A series of teasers were launched during the last few days of Ramadan with the main campaign kicking-off just after the holidays with an online film showing how differently people act in and out of the holy month. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSJBKNhzYLI (Note: Turn on subtitles for all non-Arabic speakers) A digital challenge was then launched asking people to keep the Ramadan spirit alive by picking a simple good deed (Donate – Feed – Help – Visit – Tolerate - Smile) and then tagging a friend to do the same so that the circle of fairness never stops! But Jawwy’s after-Ramdan campaign did not stop there! It went live on the ground too with activities you normally only see during Ramadan except this time it was outside the holy month! Jawwy placed donation boxes in the supermarkets, hosted meals for the needy in Mosques and distributed water at the traffic lights. While other brands were active during the month of Ramadan much like the goodness of people, Jawwy, with the support of FP7 McCann Riyadh and FP7 McCann Dubai is looking at owning the rest of the year with its clever, insightful and meaningful after-Ramadan campaign, across different occasions through out the year extending the idea to cover other areas such as helping the environment, being a better citizen and colleague, practicising safe driving habits and many. more. In the 1980s, A&W tried to compete with the immensely popular McDonald’s Quarter Pounder by offering a bigger, juicier 1/3 pound burger at the same price. Unfortunately, Americans aren’t so great at math. Confused consumers wrongly assumed that 1/4 was bigger than 1/3 (You know, because 4 is bigger than 3) and the whole experiment went down in history as a huge marketing fail. Leaders of the beloved QSR chain—founded in 1919 and the oldest in America—have spent every waking moment since this embarrassing fiasco crunching the numbers, employing a team of top mathematicians and the creative services of ad agency Cornett in an attempt to bounce back with a burger so big and a message so clear that no one in their right mind would think it’s smaller than a puny Quarter Pounder. And they’ve done it! A&W is launching the 3/9 Pound Burger with a dramatic reenactment of the “Eureka!” moment that led to this possibly Nobel Prize-winning revelation about burger math. Cornett’s video features A&W mascot/math prodigy Rooty the Great Root Bear solving the unsolvable equation. In addition (math pun), a number of creative assets like window clings, table tents, branded memes and GIFs were created for the promotion. A campaign to remember Brazil’s worst environmental disaster. In November 2015, a mining dam collapsed in the city of Mariana, Brazil. 40 billion liters of toxic mud destroyed villages, left 19 people dead, hundreds homeless, and flowed down 600km to the sea, killing fish, flora and aquatic life, contaminating water sources in 30 cities along the way. Two years after the tragedy, people have forgotten what happened. The news doesn’t cover the subject anymore. Yet, no company or person has been punished. Just 2% of green areas and 10% of water sources have been recovered. Half of the people did not receive emergency help. And the final compensation for permanent damages have yet to be defined by Brazilian justice system. To raise awareness and bring the subject into the spotlight again, we created the movement #DontForgetMariana. We invited a Brazilian celebrity, the actress Mariana Ximenes, who happens to have the same name as the city where the catastrophe took place. 70 million stray cats live in the US. Most people know you can adopt them, yet there is a lot of misinformation about the subject. What’s the best way of making people empathize with stray cats? A video game where you play as the stray cats themselves! An open-world game where you’ll have various missions which revolve around the daily lives of stray cats like scrounging for food, harsh weather, etc. Stray cats are social, and we use that to add multiplayer to our game. The cat you play as will end up being found by an animal shelter. This shelter and the cat you played as will actually exist in the city you play in, waiting to be adopted. PAW is not just extremely fun to play with, but also serves our purpose: a safer world for stray cats. When it comes to buying food on the go, it’s so easy to say yes to going large, adding a side or making it a meal deal. But these little unnecessary extras are having a huge impact on our health. As a society, we need to be more aware of the techniques used to make us buy more than we need. Food Standards Scotland approached the Union to increase awareness around upsizing. An integrated campaign, consisting of outdoor digital 6-sheets and three TV ads, addresses this serious issue in a fun and engaging way, and tells everyone that when it comes to upsizing, it’s time to say no. Advertising agency Cactus has created an animated TV campaign aimed at driving awareness and purchases of various Scratch products in the Colorado Lottery’s portfolio. Lottery ads tend to focus on a single product, but the point of “Something for Everyone” is to show there’s a Scratch game for everyone. The four 15-second spots showcase several games, such as Crossword, Bingo and Poker, and inform viewers that Scratch tickets sell at seven price points ranging from $1 to $50 and that prizes span from $50 to $3 million. The work primarily targets light Lottery players who have the most potential for increasing their spending on Scratch tickets. Many people, who don’t normally play the Lottery throughout the year, buy or receive tickets as gifts during the holiday season (November to January). This fact offers the Colorado Lottery a chance to remind infrequent players how much fun they had playing the games and purchasing tickets. Core players are a secondary target. The Colorado Lottery launches 40 to 45 unique games each year and has 24 games available at any given time for quick-match addicts, strategic thinkers, math lovers and casino fans.
