An online campaign within the Benelux, which gives young people the chance to invite two complete strangers to form a threesome with them. Aptly named Skip or Trip! If these two strangers do not respond within 9 hours, they will be stuck with each other. Creating the chance that you will be going on a Late Night Triangle Trip to Moscow, Istanbul and Berlin, to experience the nightlife each city has to offer. Skip or Trip is played on a night version of Google Maps in which young people can locate themselves (addresses) on the map. They are given the opportunity to form exciting threesomes, in the wee-hours of the night, with whom to discover the nightlife of Moscow, Istanbul and Berlin. The Waste Factory tries to reduce this by collecting the remains of perfectly good food that would otherwise be thrown out. These remains are then turned into delicious soups. So tomato butts, beetroot caps, spinach stems and pumpkin cheeks get a second chance. There’s been a lot of attention about this revolution in the foodindustry the last year. Now the dust has settled we needed to crab the attention once again for the introduction of the soups in the supermarket. To draw the attention to the introduction of the soup by The Waste Factory, the agency Fama Volat went beyond. They proved nothing is impossible when trying to prevent food from being wasted. Using the wasted vegetables, Fama Volat created veggy ink. This was used to print the packaging of all waste factory products. Yet another way to put wasted food to good use, and on the agenda again. Yet the 2019 campaign isn’t all about money, it’s about the happiness that comes from helping one another. Yes, even hedgehogs! The film shows Freddie the hedgehog vulnerably crossing a road at night. His rescuer is on his way to see if he has the winning ticket when he just manages to avoid hitting Freddie. Instead of driving off again he stops to take Freddie back to his home to recover. Ultimately, they both find happiness in helping one another and we see no amount of money in the world can top that. ‘Made in China’, ‘Made in Bangladesh’, the labels inside our clothes show us where our clothes are made, but not always how. Sustainable fashion brand Goat Organic Apparel launches a T-shirt where they place the ‘made in’ label on the outside. This comes as a statement against the low production standards fast fashion brands set in manufacturing countries such as Bangladesh. Lavinia Bakker, one of the founders of Goat: “This T-shirt is a cornerstone of our people first standards. By placing our ‘Proudly made in Bangladesh’ on the outside, we want to show that we don’t have to hide where and how our clothes are made, we are proud of it. And we would like the wearer of the tee to be that as well. We dare you to find a high-street fashion label who, with a clear conscience, will do the same.” With Goat’s ideals set in stone, the brand wants to go beyond selling clothes and has started their Taking Action platform with which they help causes that truly matter. Millions of workers in countries like Bangladesh were already struggling to get fair wages and with the COVID crisis, they are hit even harder. Therefore, the proceeds of this ‘Proudly made in Bangladesh’ T-shirt will be donated to Labour Behind the Label, a charity that provides aid to textile workers around the world.
