A woman is assaulted every two minutes in Brazil, according to the Fórum Brasileiro de Segurança Pública (Brazilian Public Safety Forum), or FBSP. To stimulate the movement to Combat Violence Against Women, the Fala Mulher Association and a RedeTV! joined forces on an audacious project: every 2 minutes, to interrupt broadcast transmission with the image of a woman being assaulted. More than just a campaign, “2breakthesilence” is a visceral portrait of this reality, personifying the coldness of these alarming statistics and incentivizing reports of the assaults via the “Lei Maria da Penha” (Federal Law for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence Against Women). Digital Sweatshops (‘Click Farms’) are used by brands, bands and even the US Government to fraudulently increase their social media profile with paid Views, Likes and Followers. And like traditional sweatshops, employees are forced to work long hours, for very little money, in appalling conditions. To reach out directly to these workers and offer assistance, we created a series of Facebook, Instagram and YouTube video messages in targeted local languages. Each message directed viewers to a mobile Labourlink helpline where workers could anonymously report abuse, discrimination and poor conditions to Asia Monitor Resource Centre, an independent NGO that advocates and lobbies businesses and governments to improve worker’s rights and conditions. We then paid digital sweatshops to View, Like and Follow the messages, thereby using their very own service to directly inform workers of their rights and improve their conditions. Every dollar invested into the campaign reached thousands of click farm workers, with our message reaching over 175 000 click farm workers in the first week alone. McDonald's is characterized by offering its customers the best French fries in the world; and now it will also offer a unique digital experience. Each consumer can use their McFries to have access to music that is in accordance with their mood; this is an innovative action developed in partnership with Spotify. Created by the agencies DPZ&T Brazil and Leo Burnett Colombia, the project focuses on diversifying the customer’s experience when they go to the restaurants. The clients will be invited to place their McFries on a code traced on the tray liner. When finished, they can open the Spotify app and scan the Spotify code on the tray liner. After the content is synchronized with the app, users will be taken to a Spotify profile named “FriesList”, specially created for the action. Then, they can enjoy the meal and listen to the songs from different and exclusive playlists, such as “FriTops of the Moment”, “I’m Out of Fries” or “Someone Stole My Fries”. Every year, sometime in November, agencies across Armenia receive very similar briefs – design year-end corporate calendars for different brands. Our brief from ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, one of the country’s leading banks, was no exception. But while paper calendars used to be rather valuable in the beginning of the decade, by now they have simply become obsolete. So, how do you make a calendar that people will not only use, but also talk about and even take selfies with? Paper calendars are not just unnecessary. They also waste a lot of paper and are quite harmful to the environment. Rather than ignore this issue, we challenged ourselves to create a calendar that would tackle the very problem that paper calendars represent – waste of resources and danger to nature. To do this, we drew inspiration from ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK’s CSR mission – to protect Armenia’s natural environment. Instead of designing another ordinary calendar, we created the CalenDARE Against Plastic – a calendar composed of 4 eco bags made with recycled paper. 12 000 CalenDAREs were given out to bank clients across Armenia and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Despite the poor awareness about the issue of plastic bags and plastic pollution in the country, people quickly took to social media to discuss the innovative calendar and the issue it raises. To further promote the CalenDare, a social media campaign (including a video ad, publications on Facebook and Instagram and influencer marketing) was carried out. Designing 4 paper bags that fold into a calendar was quite a challenge. To make sure that more organizations could benefit from our efforts, we decided to make the printing file public, so that anyone could easily reproduce the CalenDare. We created a landing page and placed the full printing file online, as an open source document.
