Hemglassbilen is the iconic Swedish ice cream truck, selling ice cream in the streets all over the country since 1969. And to make sure no kid misses the most important happening of the week, it has played its equally iconic jingle for as long – a catchy loop that has been amusing children and annoying parents for more than four decades. We wanted to make a radiospot reminding the grown ups of today the grand excitement they felt as kids when they heard the Hemglass ice cream-truck. But to make that happen in a radiospot, we had to go big…special-arrangement-symphony-orchestra-and-boys-choir-big. Valentine's Day is a popular day for eating out in Sweden. But getting table reservations in central Stockholm is easier said than done. So Swedish burger chain Max came to the rescue. Max invited their guests to a romantic three course burger meal. Red roses and mood lighting included. As always the burgers were made to order with only Swedish beef. GIL is a Swedish organization that fights on behalf of people with disabilities. In their latest campaign “Said by Retards” they highlight the issue of how the offensive and discriminatory R-word is used – and make people aware that having an intellectual disability isn't the same as being strange, or stupid. – At GIL, we want to shine a light on that it’s unfair to be generalized and associated with the real idiots in the world, says Anders Westgerd, director at GIL. Instead of assuming the role of the victim they decided to use attitude, humor and a lot of self-awareness to prove a point. Said by Retards consist of the Instagram account @saidbyretards and hundreds of short movies starring people with disabilities, quoting stupid things said by powerful people. The movies are packaged as classic “inspirational quotes”, raising the question: Who are the real retards? In Sweden, no one is deported because of HIV. But people in 22 countries around the world are. So it isn’t so surprising that 40 % of refugees in Sweden are reluctant to take an HIV test. This is why RFSL Dalarna and Hiv-Sweden decided to launch the second year of the initiative ”We Are Survivors”. We wanted refugees to feel empowered, safe and to trust the Swedish system. And to encourage them to take an HIV test and to not let HIV stop their dreams, because with treatment you can live a normal life with HIV today. Tatelicious is living proof that you are not deported because of HIV and that you can live a good life with dreams and hopes for the future. So we let her tell her powerful story. It's OK to masturbate (we all do it). It should be ok to be gay or transgender. It´s NORMAL (painful and messy) to have your period. It´s OK to be a drama queen. The campaign boosts Monki's target audience to believe in themselves and to go their own way. Our deliverables contain communication concept, creative direction in collaboration with Monki and photo and film production. We took the content; the ambassadors and the statements and made them the actual visual language for the campaign. Creating all the set design and typography by hand on banners, flags, and signs.
