Legendary Irish Retailer Monaghan’s Cashmere is launching it’s first-ever Christmas campaign, produced by Banjoman Films, as it works to bounce back from this extremely tough period. Creatively devised and directed by Dermot Malone, the film moves away from the standard festive formula with a touching story inspired by Tom Monaghan himself. The film, which stars legendary Irish theatre actor Barry McGovern (Braveheart, The Tudors, Game of Thrones), follows an elderly man experiencing his first Christmas since his wife passed away. Living on a farm with just his beloved horse for company, he frequently has flashbacks to his late wife at various stages in their life. When his family arrives for Christmas, he struggles to share in their festive spirit, especially when his young granddaughter breaks a picture frame holding a photo of his wife, himself, and their horse. Unbeknownst to her Grandfather, however, the Granddaughter takes notice of the red cable jumper he was wearing in the picture, and when mischievously rifling through his belongings, finds it. Struggling with the emotions and past memories of his wife on Christmas Day, the protagonist goes to visit his horse in the stable - only to discover his granddaughter has left him a special gift in the horse box. In the Company of Huskies has launched an emotional new campaign with Ireland’s biggest charity St. Vincent de Paul (SVP). Called ‘Save someone from a life of poverty” it juxtaposes the saddening reality of the long-term effects of poverty on young people’s lives and the positive impact made possible through donations. In this film, viewers see an exam hall full of students, but with one empty desk. In a sombre tone, the narrator tells us that the student’s mother had her work hours cut. The boy had to miss a crucial exam just to keep food on the table. The exam has begun and there’s little hope of him making it. In an emotional turn, the door opens, he arrives and is able to sit the test. Through donations made to the charity, he is saved from a life of poverty. In the Company of Huskies continues its partnership with SVP having created the multi-award-winning platform ‘A yes can last a lifetime’ for the charity in 2015. The campaign had a significant impact in Ireland. Film advertisement created by Huskies, Ireland for St. Vincent de Paul, within the category: Public Interest, NGO.

The 60-second ad centres on the fight to breathe theme and invites cinema-goers to replicate the breathing pattern of Edelle Collins, who has cystic fibrosis in real life. In so doing, it graphically illustrates how life for Edelle is a constant battle as she has to fight for her every breath. The ad was created specifically for cinema, where you have an audience with little distractions. Instead of being captivated by visuals, the audience is drawn in by the sound of Edel's breathing. Film advertisement created by Rothco, Ireland for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, within the categories: Health, Public Interest, NGO.

Motorcyclists are 6 times more likely to be killed on or roads than any other road user. Why? Well, there's a rebellious streak in them, they like going fast, and they absolutely hate being told what to do. That's why they ride a bike in the first place. This spot examines what it means to hate being told what to do. And if you won't take it from us, take it from those who've lost their lives on two wheels before you. To celebrate Dulux Weathershield’s most weather-durable paint, advertising agency Boys & Girls went in search of Ireland’s most weather-durable people – meet ‘The Invincibles’. Shot in Myrtleville beach, Co.Cork, 'The Invincibles' explores the story of Tom Bermingham, Mairead Ni Mhaoileóin and Tom McCarthy, three open water swimmers who are dedicated to the water all year round – rail, hail or shine. 'The Invincibles' gave us an opportunity to tell a story that could live beyond the confines of a traditional TV commercial,” stated Creative Director Laurence O’Byrne. “But even though it’s not TV, the same principles apply - find the idea, and craft it into something special.” The short documentary is the first in its kind for Dulux and very different territory for Weathershield, telling the story of what in truth is a very functional product in a way that drives emotion & admiration. Owned social platforms became the driving force behind the campaign using both Facebook & Twitter as the launch pads. Using video teasers and stunning imagery, the target audience were directed to a bespoke landing page which not only gave our Invincible’s a home, it also allowed Dulux tell the Weathershield story from another perspective, giving further merit to it’s product benefits and marketing leading product. In order to complete the customer journey with a cohesive link between campaign and product, we took the creative idea in store with various POS elements across national and independent stores.
