We address the feelings of those who feel like Star Wars! Samsung Turkey needed new ideas on the concept and communication processes of the special bundle, including Galaxy Note 8, Gear S3, exclusive figures and all other products, which was tailor-made for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” movie. We chose the story of a father and daughter, both Star Wars fans, to meet this need of Samsung. We undertook all launching procedures from the package design and TVC to digital media trailers. In our trailer, we see the story of a girl, who starts to hear sounds from the Star Wars world and go beyond the limits of her imagination, and discovers the real force while trying to figure out where the sound really comes from. Digital Sweatshops (‘Click Farms’) are used by brands, bands and even the US Government to fraudulently increase their social media profile with paid Views, Likes and Followers. And like traditional sweatshops, employees are forced to work long hours, for very little money, in appalling conditions. To reach out directly to these workers and offer assistance, we created a series of Facebook, Instagram and YouTube video messages in targeted local languages. Each message directed viewers to a mobile Labourlink helpline where workers could anonymously report abuse, discrimination and poor conditions to Asia Monitor Resource Centre, an independent NGO that advocates and lobbies businesses and governments to improve worker’s rights and conditions. We then paid digital sweatshops to View, Like and Follow the messages, thereby using their very own service to directly inform workers of their rights and improve their conditions. Every dollar invested into the campaign reached thousands of click farm workers, with our message reaching over 175 000 click farm workers in the first week alone. To encourage citizens to participate in Earth Hour 2013, the Municipality of Sofia and WWF invited the skeptical Bulgarians to be part of the global movement by turning off not just their lights, but their names! Most Bulgarian names end with the suffix “OV”, which sounds like OFF. “In the Name of Change” we invited people to change their profile names on facebook, turning the Bulgarian “-ov” into the English “-OFF”. We switched off the names of the city’s biggest streets on location, directing people to special Foursquare locations to check in to pledge their support. Sofia was OFF, changing its Cyrillic F letter into the English one. By changing one letter, a global matter turned into a very local and personal one.
