URL: http://allforbear.com A digital project focused on the problems of polar bear preservation has been launched by BBDO Moscow. Allforbear.com aims to increase public awareness of the issue and involve many users. Problem: With their natural habitat – ice – rapidly melting away, the 25,000 population of polar bears in the Arctic region is facing extinction. Estimates indicates that only ⅓ may survive by 2050, and the ice level last year has reached its minimum, showing a gap of the size of Turkey compared to the minimum level in 2007. The endangered future of the bears is made even worse by factors like climate change, fish migration, as well as poaching and pollution in the Arctic region. Idea: To help the WWF raise money for the project and draw public and media attention to the problem, BBDO Moscow created a special website http://allforbear.com and encouraged users to share it in social media. Solution: The website shows the virtual ice habitat of the polar bears surrounded by sea. Each click on the blue sea area turns water into a floe of ice, which gets their name, and give the bears more space to live in. The website mechanics are based on the Pay-With-A-Tweet concept: each click generates a sharing link for social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Vk.com. It is a simple viral growth formula: the more people visit the website and share it with their friends, the more donations are received by the WWF. By “buying” a bear to live on the ice, users support the preservation program and environmental projects and increase the survival chances of polar bears. Celebrities, bloggers, companies, radio stations and even football clubs are also encouraged to participate in order to spread the word and attract attention to the situation in the Arctic region. Results: The website gained a great momentum, and without a single penny spent for media support the total audience of the project just in social networks amounts to over 6 million people by now. Russian outdoor media showed their support by providing free advertising spaces, while major online media and the Russian LiveJournal community promoted it on their websites completely free of charge! The giant ice floe also obtained its very own ‘walk of fame’, as Russian celebrities joined in to help save the polar bears. As a result, without having spent a single penny on media support, the campaign’s PR value in free media coverage reached the equivalent of around $1,000,000. TASK: To make Mastercard a multi-sensory brand by building a new channel of brand communication with the audience through senses that have not previously been used for advertising purposes. Engage the Atlas Weekend audience and reach an additional 1.5 million target audience with minimal media costs. SOLUTION: Let those who are unable to hear the sound—feel the sound. We invited the American music translator, Amber Galloway Gallego. Amber is the author of a unique style of translating music into sign language. At the event, she conducted a series of trainings for a Ukrainian team of sign language translators who also contributed to interpreting performances. At a special sensor field called #MastercardVibes, visitors with hearing impairments were able to feel the music through special built-in areas. Sound was experienced as never before, with some feeling its vibrations through touch. Special SubPac ripple vests made it possible to feel deep bass frequencies throughout the entire body. RESULTS: The total media coverage of the project was 17,455,039, which is 872% more than planned. More than 200 hearing impaired people took advantage of the #MastercardVibes activity. More than 100 songs were translated during the performances. Over 70 media resources lighted up the information for free. Thanks to a master class from Amber Galloway Gallego and her team, a new profession has emerged in Ukraine—sign language interpreters specializing in translating music. The short film is a portrait of Varanasi, the holiest of India’s seven sacred cities and a place where devout Hindus go to die in hopes of achieving Moksha - becoming liberated from the cycle of rebirth. Hindu scriptures say that a soul has to undergo 8.4 million rebirths before reaching the human form and dying in Varanasi and being cremated along the banks of the river is believed to be the ideal way of achieving Moksha. Several so-called ‘death hotels’ exist to accommodate believers who abandon their lives go there and wait for death, some for as long as 40 years.

The first pornographic film that teaches young people about sexual and reproductive health, because who better to teach you about sex than porn stars? And with what better medium than the internet? Deep Pipes is part of the #PornEducation initiative, a digital social movement for free and responsible sexual and reproductive health. The Legion developed this project from first conception right through to the film’s production and release. The film has already had a huge impact thanks to its original approach that has turned a traditionally taboo subject into a positive one that cannot be censored. The campaign and film have provided plenty to talk about, as sex is a subject rarely addressed in our society. This film is the beginning of an entire educational movement and shows that even the most delicate subjects can be approached objectively and creatively and that effective ideas can be a valuable tool for connecting with the public.
