The MIFF Emotion Simulator will allow Melburnians to physically experience the emotions of a MIFF film, before they see it.

 This artistically-lead scientific experiment is a custom-built movie chair that sees the face of willing participants electro-stimulated to demonstrate the way a movie will make someone feel, before the choose to see it. 

Participants will have 12 electrodes placed on the various major muscles of the face, allowing the simulation of happiness, sadness, disgust, fear, anger, and surprise. Participants can then choose which films from this year’s Festival they’d like to experience. In this way a two-hour film is concentrated into a minute-long experience unlike any other.

A chair-mounted camera films each session creating one-off film clips that can be shared via social media throughout the Festival’s duration, by MIFF itself as well as the participants. These provide a unique facial movie preview for the people of Melbourne to watch to determine what sort of film they wish to watch from the over 370 on offer at this year’s MIFF.

When MasterCard Canada started the search for their 2013 interns, they wanted applicants to share their vision of how much better a cashless world could be. Panama Tourism Authority wanted to boost the number of visitors from the U.S. and Canada. So new work by global marketing agency VML creates a challenge for people wanting to get off the beaten path. VML enlisted well-known filmmaker Vincent Urban to help engage potential travelers by asking, "Are you a tourist…or a trailblazer?" Panama is for the latter. The lush rainforests are for wanderers, the rugged mountains for explorers...and the forbidden islands for adventurers seeking the last vestiges of an untamed world. Task: To create a low-budget campaign for the special promotion of taxi PIATNITSA – 20% discount in the rain. Solution: We came up with simple and inexpensive idea to launch a campaign using non-standard media placement and the rain itself. On the windows of cafes and restaurants with the help of special water-repellent coating we put the logo taxi PIATNITSA and information about the promo, which could be seen only in the rain. Passengers who flew Azul Airlines in December were invited to write Christmas cards and decorate Christmas trees when arriving at Viracopos International Airport. Then, the cards were attached to presents and sent to charity institutions. After that, we made a Christmas dinner that was served by some flight attendants. Following the concept of Coca-Cola TV spot “Christmas Rules”, we made an web video that highlights the affirmative values behind every rule, such as “Don't let your traditions fade away”, “Each present deserves a card”, “There is always room for one more” and “Anything Is Possible at Christmas”. With the slogan “rules have a special taste when we’re together”, we did an activation that turns into a video with more than 2 million views in one week.
