The bushfires across Australia have cast a shadow on what should be the most festive time of year. To show the human cost of this devastation, but importantly hope for the resilience and recovery of our communities, a burnt Christmas tree has been built in Sydney’s CBD. Designed by Scoundrel’s James Dive, the tree was crafted entirely with logs, branches and shrubs sourced from bushfire-affected areas of New South Wales. The tree is also decorated with burnt objects like a farm gate and bicycle and is topped with a star fashioned from a burnt-out bike wheel. These objects exist alongside signs of regeneration, including banksia seeds which require fire to sprout. Digitas UK has created an animated film showing a variety of Honda-powered vehicles and machines racing against each other. It aims to promote Honda’s leading role in Formula One, following the successful launch of its new partnership with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and its existing partnership with Scuderia Toro Rosso. The high-octane 60, 30 & 15 sec-second film will run across Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. It breaks on 4th April. The film highlights Honda Racing’s new strategic position, “Powered by Honda”, reviving the strapline made famous on the F1 cars that won so many races and championships between 1988 and 1992. The stylised film shows iconic Honda vehicles – performance cars, motorbikes, lawn mowers, speedboats and even an aircraft – all of which share being powered by Honda power units – participating in a race on an F1 racetrack. At the end of the animated sequence, they all morph back into Red Bull and Toro Rosso F1 cars and the film switches to real footage of the cars on a track.

Dove Singapore has launched a brand film highlighting the struggles of living with chronic skin conditions. Conceptualised by GOODSTUPH, the spot anthropomorphises the relationship between sensitive skin sufferers and their skin. In the film, four women share the emotional and physical struggles of living with eczema and reveal how far they’ve come in making peace with their skin. Through the film, Dove hopes to fight the stigma surrounding skin conditions, to inspire skin sufferers to be fearless, and for society to fear less. 1 billion people in the world suffer from chronic hunger. McCann Rome endorsed a FAO (UN Food and Agriculture Organization) initiative developing a global pro-bono campaign to end hunger: the 1 billion hungry project. An online petition aiming to reach 1 million signatures to put pressure on politicians and governements to act against hunger. The campaign, launched in May, spread on TV, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Smartphones, Social Media, Merchandising, PR, Events and, obviously, the Internet. Newscasts, blogs and websites reported countless times about the campaign. On November the 30th the petition has been delivered to the UN high representatives with over 3.200.000 signatures.
