Videos where they record themselves telling their parents they are different from other teens.That they are gay. We recreated that moment and filmed new coming out videos. But, instead of coming out gay, teens came out mutant, showing their parents their special abilities. A touching and heartwarming moment, just like the real coming out videos. But ours ended with a bleak twist. Sirens approached the home and a tagline introduced teens to The Gifted: What if you were hunted for being yourself? We understood that the most promising way to show millennials that Sonnet is there for all their big life moments is by protecting their optimism around their everyday negative moments. The internet has a lot of pessimistic content. We decided to flip these pessimistic moments online into positive ones. We created 'Drag & Drop', a plugin that customers can download from Sonnet's website. The plugin replaces banner ads on the websites millennials visit most. People can drag and drop anything negative they see - comments, posts and more. The plugin spins negativity into fun content, while also rewarding customers with a discount on Sonnet's insurance. This simple, voiceless campaign is titled “BOX –> OBX.” “OBX” is the Outer Banks’ signature oval destination sticker, as well as the first three characters on all Outer Banks license plates. “BOX,” of course, is what you might be in if you commute on smoggy 8-lane thruways or taxi through grid-locked city streets, if your eyes stay glued to a data-entry screen or you work late nights in a featureless complex. This campaign is like a traditional product demo (minus the shouting spokesperson), where you see the benefit happen in front of your eyes. Rich people have a tendency to throw away more food before its expiration date because they can afford it. So we'll hack another one of their spending habits to show them the value of the food they're actually wasting. We'll create a gallery with paintings made by renowned artists and have a silent auction for people to buy them. Once all the art pieces are sold, we'll reveal exactly how they were made — by using the food they just wasted as painting materials. Showing people that the expensive art they just bought is worth the same as the food they just threw out.
