The IT service provider T-Systems Switzerland celebrated the first digital day in Switzerland somewhat differently from its industry colleagues: with a personal “thank you” to the nerds – the heroes of digitalization. A microsite and a film capture the action. On November 21, 2017, T-Systems employees surprised IT professionals at their workstations with the motto "THANK YOU NERDS" in Basel, Aarau and Zurich. From an eye-catching magenta-coloured truck, the team brought them personal gifts: T-shirts with digital designs, fresh pizzas, energy drinks, hot coffee. The aim of the live action, conceived and accompanied by the Bern-based creative agency Republica, is to show personal appreciation for the daily makers of digitalization – from person to person, in a completely analogous way. The action was accompanied by the hashtag #thankyounerds on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and others.

For their new Shower Foam, Dove Singapore wanted to do something cute and creative. So we built a Facebook AR camera filter where a shower head appears and the screen fills up with foam when a user smiles! It ends with the product showing on the bottom left and a cute little duck floating on the foam. Our brief was to promote “a one-time sales proposition on lingerie”; what we did is film a 10-second, sexy and teasing video clip of our model getting dressed with Delta’s Lingerie. To gain authenticity, the video clip was filmed by the model’s agent and was shot 100% on Facebook Poke, then sent to the model’s Facebook fans through the app. The Call-To-Action at the end of the video reads “A One-Time Sale! Delta.” And directs users to Delta’s website, where they can claim their discount on the specific garment the model was wearing. Technically we had a hard time dealing with this campaign, for once, you can’t save any of the videos and you can only do a one shot clip. We also had a hard time with the fact that you can only send a Poke to up to 40 people at once, which means for every 40 people we had to shoot a new version. (This happens because the app deletes all data from both iPhone’s the second the video was sent). Digital advertisement created by Grey, Israel for Delta Lingerie, within the category: Fashion.

The film has come about as part of a collaboration between Extinction Rebellion and the advocacy group Amazon Watch. The short film marks the beginning of a new outreach strategy, which is looking to grip the wider public and get them engaging on a more visceral level with feelings and topics related to the climate and ecological emergency (CEE). Moving forwards, it looks likely that other A-listers will take part in further short films dealing with different aspects of the CEE, such as species extinction. This could be the first significant step in Hollywood tangibly engaging with the threats we face globally.
