We were asked to devise an innovative concept to promote Sony PlayStation's 'Movies on Demand' service, to gain credibility for the service and highlight the superior experience. Taking movies as our starting point we pushed the brand outside of traditional channels. We tried to imagine what the ultimate movie experience would be like, creating three high-impact promos using 'immersive imaging' which were inspired by well-known movies. This technique uses 3D projection mapping as its starting point and combines it with traditional special effects, giving the viewer a supercharged experience, as the living room set is brought to life. Once again we were able to collaborate with some amazing creative talents in the FND Collective andMLF, who helped us to bring the campaign to life. Each film was carefully choreographed and timed to the animation sequence so that we could capture everything in one take, with no cuts, no post production and all in real time. The project combined real-life props, pyrotechnics and ninja puppeteers so we were able to blur the boundaries between the virtual and real. UNILAD, FreedomToDonate and ELVIS are partnering to launch the world’s first-ever blood bank for gay and bisexual men, highlighting the discriminatory UK law which states that it is illegal for all gay or bisexual men to donate blood – even if it’s perfectly safe to use – unless they are willing to abstain from sex for three months. Located in a secret London location, the Illegal Blood Bank will offer gay and bisexual men the opportunity to donate their blood in protest against the current law, and to highlight that there is a safe supply of blood currently being ignored due to the discriminatory legislation, which is much needed and could benefit the entire UK population. Working with FreedomToDonate, the pressure group seeking to make blood donation more inclusive, UNILAD is calling for a fairer blood donation system, where everyone is treated equally and assessed on their individual behaviour, not their sexual orientation. To support, the MSM community can register to become a donor on November 23rd at www.bloodwithoutbias.com. Allies of the cause, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, can raise awareness and show their support by using #BloodWithoutBias on their social channels or signing the petition here. He appears at the very moment in our adverts when people start to question their insurance, and is then ‘removed’ in a number of unconventional scenarios.
