The powerful spot, “Time to Rise,” features actress, model, and activist Corinne Foxx with appearances by TV personality Nigel Barker and his daughter Jasmine, as well as a diverse group of other Girl Up supporters who recite William Ernest Henley’s poem, “Invictus.” It creates a defiant chorus of women with the men in quiet support. Finally, everyone stops and looks defiantly at the camera as Corinne declares the final line, triumphant and alone: “I am the captain of my soul.” As the screen fades to black, text appears encouraging viewers to join the fight for equality at girlup.org/TimeToRise. Through this effort, Girl Up is looking to tap into the global movement for gender equality to reach and excite a new generation of young women and girls, as well as the men and boys who want to partner with them. The video was produced in partnership with Berlin Cameron, the creative agency on the video. Nike is using holographic 3-D advertising to promote their new “Free” running shoe. The first-of-their-kind ads, which are running in outdoor locations in Amsterdam, project a holographic image demonstrating the key feature of the shoe—its flexibility. Nike free shoes are specifically designed to let your feet move more naturally and freely than traditional athletic shoes. Over time, this helps make your feet stronger. The hologram shows the shoe bending forward and back to simulate its flexibility. The ads sit in a Holocube, which is transparent so people can see the shoe from all angles, and brightly lit to attract attention of passersby—day or night.

Seven lives are lost to home fires every day in the US – more than all natural disasters combined. In an effort to change these statistics, the American Red Cross is launching “The Great Escape,” a PSA aimed at educating families on home fire safety. This campaign focuses on preparing families with two simple steps: Practicing a 2-minute fire drill, and Testing smoke alarms monthly. To bring this message to life, the work features a surreal universe where toys have come alive and are practicing a timely evacuation from their dollhouse—a scene which we later realize is a figment of one child’s imagination. Malmö Hardware Store needed an idea to be able to compete with the giant home improvement chains that are taking over the market. We learned that the stores main earnings comes from supplies, not from expensive tools. So we created ToolPool. It works just like a carpool, but with tools. And it's for free. All we ask in return is that you share our message on Facebook. During the very first month, ToolPool received extensive media coverage, over 600 members and sales in the store increased by 25%. URL: http://allforbear.com A digital project focused on the problems of polar bear preservation has been launched by BBDO Moscow. Allforbear.com aims to increase public awareness of the issue and involve many users. Problem: With their natural habitat – ice – rapidly melting away, the 25,000 population of polar bears in the Arctic region is facing extinction. Estimates indicates that only ⅓ may survive by 2050, and the ice level last year has reached its minimum, showing a gap of the size of Turkey compared to the minimum level in 2007. The endangered future of the bears is made even worse by factors like climate change, fish migration, as well as poaching and pollution in the Arctic region. Idea: To help the WWF raise money for the project and draw public and media attention to the problem, BBDO Moscow created a special website http://allforbear.com and encouraged users to share it in social media. Solution: The website shows the virtual ice habitat of the polar bears surrounded by sea. Each click on the blue sea area turns water into a floe of ice, which gets their name, and give the bears more space to live in. The website mechanics are based on the Pay-With-A-Tweet concept: each click generates a sharing link for social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Vk.com. It is a simple viral growth formula: the more people visit the website and share it with their friends, the more donations are received by the WWF. By “buying” a bear to live on the ice, users support the preservation program and environmental projects and increase the survival chances of polar bears. Celebrities, bloggers, companies, radio stations and even football clubs are also encouraged to participate in order to spread the word and attract attention to the situation in the Arctic region. Results: The website gained a great momentum, and without a single penny spent for media support the total audience of the project just in social networks amounts to over 6 million people by now. Russian outdoor media showed their support by providing free advertising spaces, while major online media and the Russian LiveJournal community promoted it on their websites completely free of charge! The giant ice floe also obtained its very own ‘walk of fame’, as Russian celebrities joined in to help save the polar bears. As a result, without having spent a single penny on media support, the campaign’s PR value in free media coverage reached the equivalent of around $1,000,000. BBDO Paris builds up mystery for Mercedes-Benz
BBDO Paris is taking advantage of the New Year to share its new Mercedes-Benz film with us.
To showcase the technological innovation in Mercedes Me services, “The Encounter” tells the story of a group of children who are mysteriously fascinated by their neighbour’s Mercedes.
Far from settling for an effective product demo, the commercial skilfully borrows from the codes of fantasy films from our childhood, with a plot revolving around the E Class Wagon.
As with The Investigation in 2015, BBDO Paris’ integrated production team directly produced this new work.
The film will initially be released online from the end of December.
