Likefriends is a global creative agency based in Amsterdam. We believe people’s attention should be treated with respect and can only be earned with empathy. That’s why, in everything we do, we strive to produce work that forges long lasting relationships. It forces us to rethink how brands and people interact, and advocate for communication that adds value to people and the culture they inhabit. This year for Christmas we decided to make things personal. Santa may be able to travel the globe in one single night, but if we want to personally wish our global clients, partners and other friends happy holidays, we'll have to bring them to us. So we did. Overnight we turned our office into a complete xmas workshop, and developed a live video-dial-in connection for our friends. We sang and danced with hundreds of our best friends, wishing them a merry xmas and a happy new year. For those who've we missed we created an after movie, wishing happy holidays to all! Our agency recently “painted" the whole city of The Hague in Piet Mondrian colors, demonstrating the creative and experiential power of OOH. To bring Mondrian to the hearts and minds of people, Gemeentemuseum, The Netherlands’ most renowned museum of modern arts, partnered with Kinetic and The Hague to transform the city into a living, urban Mondrian painting. The campaign was designed to promote the museum’s newest international exhibition, The Discovery of Mondrian. The primary purpose of the campaign was to boost familiarity with Piet Mondrian and draw a large audience to the museum itself and The Hague. "Mondrian pushed boundaries, both in his life and in his work. So it only makes sense that we pushed creative boundaries for the Gemeentemuseum in return,” said Thomas Thiadens from Kinetic. “Mondrian started as a landscape painter and gradually developed into one of the founders of abstract art. He’s had an immense and immeasurable influence on art and design today, so we wanted to immerse people into his work,” he added. The campaign proved to be a local and international success. On a local level, we successfully ignited a new sense of pride in the city of The Hague, and gave people from all walks of life the opportunity to learn and discover the true genius of Mondrian. The campaign was covered by several major local TV stations and publications, the film was viewed online over 700k times and The Hague Municipal Museum achieved a 25% increase in Facebook followers. On an international level, the campaign was picked up by 80 international journalists as well as garnering a special in-depth spotlight on CBS, that brought American TV watchers to the streets of The Hague. Our social media influencer amplification resulted in a total reach of 611k, with 16,199 total engagements. For Dutch lemonade brand Neko Jusu we made a japanese advetising inspired film that is so bizarre yet totally logical that we wonder why nobody else did it before. Because yes, cats rule the world. And because you may now realize that we all live in a cat-matrix. It may even explain why youtube became big by showing all those cut cat videos. Leftover Art, BMW started offering free automatic transmission on every new BMW. We wanted to raise awareness with the urban, trendier demographic that tends to prefer the less expensive manual transmission option. Leftover Art was born, a sustainable design project that gives new life to a driver’s left shoe. Partnering up with two upcoming Dutch designer duo Annebel & Esther, we created a one-of-a-kind Collection based on residual left shoes. That will inspire all automatic drivers. Stories are anywhere and everywhere your eyes can find them. To prove this and inspire the celebration of everyday moments, W+K Amsterdam produced a multi-channel, integrated campaign that presents the world through the lens of the stories platform on Instagram. The ‘Stories Are Everywhere’ campaign, which first launched in April in the USA, Germany and Italy, was inspired by the endless ways that the Instagram community is already using Stories tools. It demonstrates the infinite ways that stickers, boomerangs, brushes and live video can help turn any moment into something special – that stories really are everywhere. The ambitious multi-channel approach wove together a playful mix of epic and everyday moments both on and off line. To embrace the spirit of expression through Stories features, the agency team had fun experimenting and creating directly on the platform itself. This lead to the production of 26 films; over 270 billboards and guerrilla OOH; 13 digital billboards; dominating multiple train stations in Philadelphia and Milan; wrapping up trams in Milan; taking over a cinema in Cologne from the floor to the toilet signs and making more moments of topical and local relevance than residents could imagine. All in under three months. The campaign culminated with an Insta Stories Festival in Cologne on Saturday 24 June, featuring German influencer Dagi Bee, a giant BOOM BOOM BANG BANG confetti cannon, donut wall, Oguturi boom forest and many other Stories inspired activations. The festival kick started the summer and celebrated an array of attendees Stories’ content, which was created in and around the event.
