Whosyabuddah: From physical love to daily digital karma! Last friday on Buddha’s birthday we have launched Whosyabuddha. He drops hip hop flavored wisdom for those who give him physical love. If you rub his belly with a NFC-chip (RFID) he will send you some digital daily karma through Twitter to kickstart your day. To enter our headquarters in Utrecht (the Netherlands) we use an NFC-chip. That gave us the idea to give our collegeas something extra with their daily check-in. A small act of kindness besides a nice cup of coffee, that charges their karma before they start their workday. When you rub Whosyabuddha's belly with the NFC-chip, a public transport card or a mobile phone, an Arduino unit will read the chip. After this Whosyabuddha will search for the perfect wisdom in the holy database. Through text to speech hip hop flavored wisdom will be spoken by Whosyabuddha. Simultaneously, a tweet will be sent via the Twitter API to the person in question. From thuglife to huglife! Give it a try and pay us a visit or send a tweet to @whosyabuddha. Smacking daily karma in ya face! Digital advertisement created by Rhinofly, Netherlands for Rhinofly, within the category: Agency Self-Promo.

Dutch Customs wanted to inform travelers that it's illegal to bring back fake designer bags and small knifes from holiday destinations around the world. We created retargeting banners in which street vendors try to sell you these products and placed them on travel websites. Thanks to the retargeting technique, the street vendors followed you around, popped up when least expected and they got more desperate each time. And after their little sales pitch, we delivered our message; this is not OK. Digital advertisement created by JWT, Netherlands for Dutch Customs, within the category: Professional Services.
‘Made in China’, ‘Made in Bangladesh’, the labels inside our clothes show us where our clothes are made, but not always how. Sustainable fashion brand Goat Organic Apparel launches a T-shirt where they place the ‘made in’ label on the outside. This comes as a statement against the low production standards fast fashion brands set in manufacturing countries such as Bangladesh. Lavinia Bakker, one of the founders of Goat: “This T-shirt is a cornerstone of our people first standards. By placing our ‘Proudly made in Bangladesh’ on the outside, we want to show that we don’t have to hide where and how our clothes are made, we are proud of it. And we would like the wearer of the tee to be that as well. We dare you to find a high-street fashion label who, with a clear conscience, will do the same.” With Goat’s ideals set in stone, the brand wants to go beyond selling clothes and has started their Taking Action platform with which they help causes that truly matter. Millions of workers in countries like Bangladesh were already struggling to get fair wages and with the COVID crisis, they are hit even harder. Therefore, the proceeds of this ‘Proudly made in Bangladesh’ T-shirt will be donated to Labour Behind the Label, a charity that provides aid to textile workers around the world. ASICS GEL® technology is a central element to the history and future of the brand, and ‘ENGINEERED FOR EVERYDAY’ exhibits this. The campaign showcases the scientific elements ASICS apply to the creation of their products, playfully testing the footwear and the wearers in a stylized lab setting, putting each model through their paces in every day scenarios. Participants use VR to simulate running for a bus, are challenged to push start a car and dance in a bass-heavy club simulator. These scenarios highlight how ASICS has combined elements of its performance technology to give users comfort and cushioning to create new models containing GEL® technology that are ‘ENGINEERED FOR EVERYDAY’. The campaign runs across markets globally, featuring six core products that all share GEL® technology within their DNA, using the component in new and expressive ways. Amsterdam is known for two things: bikes and canals. But each year nearly 15,000 bicycle wrecks are fished from the Amsterdam canals. That’s a lot of scrap metal. As V2C, we are proud of being from Amsterdam. To pay homage to our heritage, we’re giving these forgotten bicycles new life by using them to create a series of “Drowned Bottle Openers”. The limited-edition bottle openers are made from different parts of discarded bikes that were dredged up from the bottom of the Amsterdam canals.
