‘Made in China’, ‘Made in Bangladesh’, the labels inside our clothes show us where our clothes are made, but not always how. Sustainable fashion brand Goat Organic Apparel launches a T-shirt where they place the ‘made in’ label on the outside. This comes as a statement against the low production standards fast fashion brands set in manufacturing countries such as Bangladesh. Lavinia Bakker, one of the founders of Goat: “This T-shirt is a cornerstone of our people first standards. By placing our ‘Proudly made in Bangladesh’ on the outside, we want to show that we don’t have to hide where and how our clothes are made, we are proud of it. And we would like the wearer of the tee to be that as well. We dare you to find a high-street fashion label who, with a clear conscience, will do the same.” With Goat’s ideals set in stone, the brand wants to go beyond selling clothes and has started their Taking Action platform with which they help causes that truly matter. Millions of workers in countries like Bangladesh were already struggling to get fair wages and with the COVID crisis, they are hit even harder. Therefore, the proceeds of this ‘Proudly made in Bangladesh’ T-shirt will be donated to Labour Behind the Label, a charity that provides aid to textile workers around the world. To launch Arsenal’s 2021/22 third jersey, Iris created ‘Where we belong’, a 3.5 minute mockumentary. Instead of focusing on well-known players, the film spotlights a 60-year-old character to launch the latest shirt - Arsenal super fan, Len. The mockumentary turns Len into a true club legend, with players past and present telling stories about him and how his belief has influenced some of the club’s most historic moments. Directed by a diehard life-time Arsenal fan, the film is littered with insights and easter eggs that only ‘true fans’, like Len, will pick up on. The campaign taps into the fact that, for fans, there is nothing more powerful than belief. Faithful Arsenal fans have always had an elite mentality and believed that no matter what happens on the pitch, they are one of the best clubs in the world and they will get back to where they belong - Len is the embodiment of that belief. Overview COVID canceled everything. This year, the streets of our city would not cover with pride and color; therefore, we had to find a way to transport that spirit somewhere safer for everyone, and that would allow us to send a message of equality. Idea UCreativa Pride Island, a Pride Parade held entirely inside a video game. Using Animal Crossing, and Twitch was how we made it possible to create our Pride Parade for our client Universidad Creativa. We designed an island in which people could access with a unique code sent directly to them. There, they would find a Pride Parade full of color, positive messages, art and design exhibitions from our students, as well as live concerts with national bands, gifts, prizes, and even college scholarships. Zalando breaks the patterns of fashion advertising: Pride pioneers star as faces of the new campaign As part of Zalando’s campaign, Finnish Pride pioneers are donning the kinds of outfits they were dreaming to wear long ago – already when dressing so freely was taboo. Dresscode: Freedom campaign is a thank you letter written with joy and style to the forerunners of the LGBTQ+ cause, as it highlights the stories of the pioneers serving as the faces of the campaign. The campaign was designed and executed by the Helsinki-based creative agency SEK. Dresscode: Freedom shines the spotlight on Finland’s LGBTQ+ pioneers and activists. The pioneers serving as the faces of this campaign get to dress in the kinds of outfits they were longing to wear decades ago, but were unable to because of the prevailing intolerance – or the fear of being labelled mentally ill or a criminal. Zalando is the chief partner of Helsinki Pride in 2021 and continues to bring forth local LGBTQ+ influencers as part of the campaign.
