We had to introduce the exhilaration and wonder of the drive in a Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet. This is an experience that can’t easily be described, and has to be felt to fully understand. That’s why we created an immersive Virtual Reality experience. We went to the experts in wonder, children, to get the inspiration for the VR piece. Unlike adults, who’ve lost their sense of wonder, children are able to fully experience the sensory pleasure a ride in a cabriolet gives. We took them for a drive and asked them to describe it to us. We used what they told us to create a fantasy drive, where adult senses are delighted and re-awakened. Following the “Most Dangerous Street” installation, I wanted to let you know about an activation that took place in downtown Chicago yesterday for the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence (ICHV). During the event, the organization, in partnership with FCB Chicago, unveiled “The Gun Violence History Book”. Outlined in 19 chapters and 853 pages, is the 228 years of gun violence history in America. The articles, facts, and data within are intended to be a tool to teach current and future voters how we can stop repeating history. Additionally, the book has formed part of a learning plan for teachers and schools in Chicago-land. Where the bullet finally stopped, is a message for readers, “This bullet stopped. But history continues to be written. Support universal background checks at www.stopgunviolencehistory.com.” The site helps connect people with their senator, and then sends an automated email urging for universal background checks. The nonprofit is also encouraging communities to support Fix the FOID Act [HB 96] – a new legislation with the goal of addressing loopholes in our existing gun licensing system – by encouraging lawmakers to support. It’s no surprise that blurry vision is a side effect of alcohol. And the fact that cinema isn’t used very often in advertising is also an important factor. How many premiers happen each year, and how many people attend them to view every small detail of their favourite director’s latest work? All of these facts inspired our idea: editing the first minute and a half of a film, so that the clip appears blurry. The tension amongst the viewers is obvious, until everything comes together into one clear message “Drink Responsibly”. This simple, voiceless campaign is titled “BOX –> OBX.” “OBX” is the Outer Banks’ signature oval destination sticker, as well as the first three characters on all Outer Banks license plates. “BOX,” of course, is what you might be in if you commute on smoggy 8-lane thruways or taxi through grid-locked city streets, if your eyes stay glued to a data-entry screen or you work late nights in a featureless complex. This campaign is like a traditional product demo (minus the shouting spokesperson), where you see the benefit happen in front of your eyes. Instead of the cleanser that removes grass and wine stains, or the knife so sharp it can cut a shoe, in our case, it’s the barrier islands that can cure the common city.” Film advertisement created by BooneOakley, United States for Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, within the category: Hospitality, Tourism.
